This design manual describes the Curida visual identity. Here you will find descriptions of how the various graphic elements are to be used and you can download the Curida logos, our brand typography and various templates.
Logo
The logo is the main element of our identity, our signature and should be featured in all design and communication. A set of rules will enable the logo to do its job properly, building the brand, creating high recognition and preference over time. Our logo should never be changed, edited, skewed or distorted in any way.
Primary logo
The primary logo is a lockup of our logotype (the name) and our logo symbol. We don't use the logotype without the logo symbol. The logo can be used in red on light backgrounds or in white on dark backgrounds.
Positioning and sizing
As a general rule the logo should be placed along the left side of our formats. Leave space to the right for our brand symbol to breathe.
Logo symbol
The logo symbol is an established mark for our brand and can be used separately from the logotype (name), but the primary logo should always be present in the same context.
Additional logo
We are now introducing a tagline to accompany the logo, strengthening our brand message and identity. The tagline is used in conjunction with the logo to convey our purpose and positioning in a clear and consistent way.
Download logo files
When using our logo, make sure to use the appropriate file format for the production intended, RGB for use on screen and CMYK for print. If you are unsure which is right, please ask advice from the producer in charge.
Typography
Typographic choices play an important role in an identity and should be a flexible and useful tool that ensures a consistent, hierarchical typographic expression for Curida.
Brand typeface
General Sans is a rationalist sans serif typeface and it defines the typographic expression of Curida. The General Sans family has six weights that range from Extralight to Bold, and is the work of Frode Helland, a type designer from Norway.
System fonts
General Sans is always the preferred fonts in our communication. When it's not available, and in digital documents meant for further editing (live text) we use Arial as a fallback.

General Sans is a rationalist sans serif typeface. Its letterforms feel like the France of the 1950s; they are very orderly, but also a bit spritely. The letters’ apertures are very small, making the counterforms in typeface feel like they are being completely enclosed within their surrounding characters. The General Sans family has six weights that range from Extralight to Bold.

Colors
Colors are an important part of our identity, it is in play in all our design and communication — and red is at our very core. Our primary colors consist of a rich range of reds, in combination with generous space. The Curida red can be supplemented by our supporting colors in order to create a lively expression.
